It’s time to stop putting your homestead dreams on hold, and the Apartment Homesteading Project is here to help you do just that. No matter where or how you live, you can be a homesteader today by practicing any of the skills listed below.

What The Apartment Homesteading Project Is
Ever wished you could move out to the countryside and live the good life? I know I have. I’ve been dreaming of it every day for more than a decade.
Maybe you don’t have a homestead right now, and you don’t think you’ll be able to afford land any time soon. Or maybe your job keeps you in the city. Maybe you, like me, live in a condo, townhouse, and apartment and don’t even have a yard. Maybe homesteading seems like a far-off dream for a future when you have more money, time, and freedom.
But you don’t need to wait.
Homesteading is about day-to-day choices – choosing to cook from scratch, grow your own food, and learning to do for yourself rather than rely on modern conveniences. All of those things are possible even if you’re apartment homesteading
So from here on out, I’ll be making those very choices. Each week, I’ll focus on mastering one of the skills below. Some I’m already familiar with, and others are all new. And then I’ll share the tips and tricks I’ve learned along the way in a new weekly blog post and link to those posts from the relevant topics listed here. As time goes by, I hope this page will become an index of every apartment homesteading skill you or I could hope to learn.
